Cargo Drop

Description
This small duel map seems to be some kind of small platform set in an Imperial complex of sorts. It features the dueling area, which consists of a square raised platform, and the surrounding rocky area. The surrounding area was actually more interesting to me than than the playable area, featuring what looks like the inside portion of the installation which is, unfortunately, unreachable. Consider it eye-candy. Curiously enough in my noclipping adventures I noticed that part of this unreachable area is fully furnished with detail that I don't believe is visible from the playable area. Perhaps it was meant to be playable, but the author decided against it.

In terms of playability the map seems well suited for a lightsaber duel. The size seems to be just about perfect for two people, and it's not simply a flat area surrounded by stuff. There are enough obstacles to make your duel interesting and more challenging. The overall ambiance of the map is also very good. I did think it will a little bit too well lit compared with the size, location, and number of light sources, but the lighting overall is not too bad. There [i]was[/i] one slight brush problem where the skybox was visible because a brush seems to be too short, but it's not very noticible -- I almost missed it in my map tests. All in all a well constructed map that definitely has a Star Wars feel, making it fit in perfectly with the game.
