[CONTEST] Tibana Gas Platform

This intermediate level map aims to represent a tibanna gas platform near Bespin. It does its job of recreating the Bespin feel, as so many maps have before, but yet still seems oddly unique. I simply say 'oddly' because there have been so many Bespin maps in the past.

There are two weak points of this map, which I will get out of the way before I continue. Firstly is that there is at least one missing texture. Secondly, because there is so much in this map in such a small space, it almost feels cluttered. Unless of course you move away from the clutter into the nothingness at the edges of the platform.

The architecture of the map is simple, yet intricate at the same time. A ladder leads to an expansive catwalk system which connects the several tibanna gas storage containers that create a ring around the map. A similar pathway on the ground leads to two cloud cars, should you ever wish to escape this particular platform. [i]You[/i] can't use them, but it goes to reason that if this map were real, you might not want to wait for a shuttle to pick you up. There is what seems to be one small container ship in the center, picking up some gas from one of the containers, and there is also a control room a bit off center.

You would think my biggest complaint would be the missing textures, but I find [i]my[/i] biggest complaint is actually the music. Everyone loves Duel of the Fates, but just because you [i]can[/i] put it in a map doesn't mean you should. It simply doesn't fit and, for me, ruins the atmosphere of the entire map.

Overall it's a good map, and had it not been for a missing texture this map might have even made it to the finalist round. Definitely keep up the mapping and make sure to participate in our next mapping contest.
