Desolate

Description
Desolate is a medium sized map that has the Empire facing the Rebels on a desolate waste planet. The map itself contains a crashed Acclamator and a crashed Venator to help add to the desolate feel. The map features several bunkers to allow you to slowly advance on the enemy. The mining facilities offer a large tactical advantage for the player that is able to capture them. The wide open areas between the mountainous areas allowing you to have large scale battles without worrying about the limitations of the size of the playing field. However just remember that it is fairly easy to flank and outmaneuver the enemy in this map. The map only contains one texture and the author should learn to sue more texture variation. It would of also been nice to see not such a flat terrain for units to walk on. The mapper should also concentrate in his next map to make connections between the environment, skydome and water colour to allow the environment to blend in with the terrain. Fog should also be utilized.

Overall this a map that is great for tactical games. It allows to easily use superior tactics to destroy the enemy base and win the game. It only lacks in some aesthetic qualities. If you like this then this is the map for you.
