Malachor Winter

Wow, and I thought winters in Green Bay were bad... at least they have no Rancors there.

This is a wonderfully done map that may seem a bit confusing at first, but that is a certain part of its draw. Each team starts out with a sizable force ready for action. But between the snow beasts (check out the readme), the radiation zones, and the deep pools, getting anywhere is half the strategy.

Neither team starts off with a full base, so some of the starting units are the most powerful you will see for the whole skirmish. This adds quite a bit to the level of strategy and gives both sides many options for different tactics.

A couple of problems I encountered:
The imperials have no shield generator to operate their turbolaser turrets.
The poison areas around the map don't seem to affect troopers.
And, I don't think repulsorlift units should be able to go into the deep pools of water. Although it may be possible, it looks funny and I don't think it is probable.

Other than that, I had a lot of fun playing this map.
