New New Reborn

Reborn’s! I have said this before and no doubt will say it many times in the future, Reborn’s have always been Marmite skins. If you don’t know what Marmite is, then you will have absolutely no idea what that means, so I will explain! [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmite]Marmite[/url] is a kind of savoury spread, that has an extremely powerful taste, basically you either love it or hate it :P

Reborn re-skins are somewhat the same, you either like them or you don’t, personally I actually quite like Reborn re-skins (I will probably get assassinated by a group of irate modders now!) and so I am happy to review this file.

First off, this isn’t the traditional Reborn from JK2 but rather one of the ‘new’ Reborn’s from JKA. Since this is the authors first skin the changes aren’t drastic, but rather are confined to some re-coloured areas of the clothing. These areas are re-coloured in different shades of blue, and I must say that I actually quite like the mottled effect between the brown-orange trousers and the new blue colouring added over it.

Of course being a first skin there are a few things that need to be worked on for next time. Firstly, the top of this fellows head is…invisible! You can clearly see right through the top of his head. Conclusive proof, if ever you needed it, that the Reborn’s in JKA don’t actually have any brains! :P Ehem, anyway, it appears as though some textures have not been included in the .pk3 I think and this must be why the textures for the top of his head are missing. Secondly, there are no team skins, although being the authors first skin that can be forgiven, but definitely something to work on for next time.

Lastly I would just say to try and be as neat as possible when re-colouring portions of the clothing as a few areas do look a little messy (around the neck for example).

However, I would say that this is a good first attempt at skinning, so well done there mate, and I look forward to seeing a v2 of this!
