Outskirts

Here's a pretty cool new map called Outskirts by two authors, Kyle Kinney (Number3izthaman) and Zay Burks ([5.SS]Pzgr. Zay). It basically covers the area of a small town including the outskirts, of course, but really it seems as though the focus is on the actual town buildings. There are quite a few varied buildings with complex layouts, which is nice, but they're just a tad boring. The textures could be better, and I really wish there was more to see [i]inside[/i] the buildings. There are some filing cabinets with scattered papers here and there and a few desks with overturned chairs, but the buildings are virtually empty inside. Another complaint I have with this map is that the ambient lighting is much too low for the implied dusk setting. The contrast between the skybox and actual map lighting started to hurt my eyes. In any case, the map is available in all the CoD2 gametypes, and as I said, there's probably a lot of good games awaiting you among all those buildings, so check out the screenshots below and give Outskirts a try. ;)
