Here is a Romulan Cruiser from the Enterprise B era, the Saberhawk is an enhanced verson of a Romulan Light Cruiser. This refitted version has more power avaliable and is slightly larger in the middle. There are many differences between this and the light crusier, firstly this ship has a third nacelle, which acts on its own at warp to allow the ship to run on less power under cloak and allowing the ship to run on less power to make the cloak operate more efficently. It was found during trials that the ships internal shielding had not been upgraded enough to shield the larger reactors energy signature at warp, so by using the outer 2 as field stabilizers and driving off the center during cloaked operations it could run at lower power levels.

When not cloaked, it will use the standard two engine system. The larger reactor also enabled the ship to have a second heavy disruptor in the rear, and stronger than expected lateral disruptors as well. The ship never reached the excpectations of the sparrow class it was designed to supliment as sparrows were being upgraded to Senator DN's. Eventualy, the refit was dropped after only a few were produced in favour of simply building new Sparrows.

This ship is fairly well armed for a light cruiser, although most of its weapons are forward facing and the lack of aft weapons wll show during any battles, which does mean that it is very vunerable when attacked from behind. This ship is more than a match for an miranda class starship or similar, although will struggle against anything more powerful. For fun try this ship against an excelsior class to see if you can beat it.
