Description
Ah, you FF7 fanchildren all have something to be happy about today! I have for you all a sword. Not just any sword, but the Hardedge.

Before I get to the model itself, I\'d like to take a moment to describe the effects this weapon has. Unlike most swords, this has a nice little earthquake effect when it hits the ground, knocking back anyone close by. It also causes sparks to fly from where it hits people, which I thought was odd, as people are soft beings that don\'t spark when hit by metal.

But the model itself... A simple one, really, as was the original weapon from FF7. This weapon, though, does not match the original design. If I remember correctly, there was a hole in the middle, where it is filled in with red on this model, and the top part was slanted back. The model pretty much looks to me like a cylinder for the handle, and two boxes for the rest, with the blade being slightly bent inward in the middle. The skinning itself, though, is pretty good. It looks like it could pass well for metal, better than some other metal textures I have seen. But what it needs is a shader to make it more realistic. From what I saw while playing around with it ingame, it just looked like dirty, dull metal.

Overall, I thought that despite a very simple and easy to make model, this weapon was pretty nice. I would like to see another version more fitting to the original, though.

You all know the drill, give it a download and figure it out for yourselves.
