Gunblades

Description
This is something a lot of people have been waiting and asking for a long time. Inyri has finally released her gunblade models for JA! It includes Squall's Revolver gunblade and Seifer's Hyperion gunblade. For those who haven't played FFVIII, a gunblade is like a sword, except the hilt is a gun, where pulling the trigger does something that I can't remember.

Anyway, the Revolver is pretty accurate from what I remember and to the references I viewed from Google. It has all the things from the blade except for the chain hanging from the end of the hilt, which would be a waste of vertecies anyway. In fact, my only real problem with the model is that, unless Modview is lying to me, this has about 1887 vertecies. Considering that a lot of character models have about 1500-2500, this seems like a lot. Though I really doubt that there could've been a whole lot done about that without the model losing its quality, and I doubt that it'll really hurt game performance unless your computer is really old. As in, pre-2002. The texture is also pretty good, except that the handle of the gun seems rather plain. I'm also glad that Inyri did the Greiver engravement by hand instead of photosourcing it. It looks much better than a photosource. Overall, though, I really like this blade and will probably keep it until I have to reformat.

The Hyperion is pretty accurate too. The model's a bit simpler since the hilt is just a basic pistol instead of a revolver for the hilt, so this time it only has about 550 verts. Now the only problem I have with this is that the pictures I looked at this showed the hilt and blade as having a grayish color. However, the skin for this has it being a rusty-red color. Overall, it's a good blade, though I don't like it quite as much the Revolver.

So in the end, I doubt anyone who waited for it would be disappointed with this. Good job!
