Description Hot on the heels of the Slipstream saber, is the long-awaited Oathkeeper Keyblade, made by none other than DJ Iny.
With the recent release of Riku, and the previous release of Sora, now was the perfect time to release this. And it's a good model. Well, as good as a Keyblade can get, anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for originality, but hey - did you ever see a samurai do a zantetsuken combo with an oversized key?
Anyway, the resulting weirdness of Disney+Square aside, and let's not get started on Enix, the detail on this model is finely-crafted to a high level of accuracy. From the pics of Oathkeeper which I could find, I could barely pick out any differences at all. The texturing job is very basic, but when you get the keyblade in-game it looks far better thanks to shaders. The sounds are a little grating, but then again, keys sound annoying in real life too. ;)
I do have a few gripes, which aren't really gripes, but I always feel like a biased sell-out if I don't say at least one negative thing about a file.
The Keyblade is quite flat. I know that's generally what they were like in Kingdom Hearts, but this one is anorexic. You'll also be hard-pressed to defend yourself against other saber wielders using this, as it's set to a blade length of 30. While the blade length did need shortening to stop the trails looking funky, that's just plain unbalancing. :p
Anyway, if you're one of our resident KH fanatics, then this is something you'll want in your collection. Just don't be afraid to use it - it's not a collectable 1982 Chewbacca toy, you're safe to take it out of it's box. The individual I'm aiming that comment at, knows who they are. ;)
