Description For those of you who aren't EU buffs (that's Expanded Universe) this ship is called Storm, and it is the personal starfighter of Prince Isolder of Hapes (this can be found in the book The Courtship of Princess Leia for those interested).
From what I've seen this ship looks structurally accurate. The skin could be better, and there are no custom sounds or shaders, but it does look very Hapan, as it should. Structurally it looks very complete, and far from blocky. Hapan ships, after all, are very streamlined, and this ship reflects that style. It's a bit lacking in the skinning, however. They are improved over some older projects, but still have plenty of room for more improvement.
The skin itself looks like a basic gradient with some areas making use of photoshop's bevel tool rather than being done by hand. I could be wrong here, but that's the impression it gives out. This unfortuantely makes the skin look more like plastic than metal -- not a great look for a starfighter. The lights on the skin all seem to be simply opaque spots, as if he just picked a larger, hard-edged brush and clicked with a solid color. Don't get me wrong, it's tons better than just slapping a random pattern on there like SithDagger has done in the past, it could just use a little more work, and good metal skinning techniques come with time and practice.
Some customized sounds would have been nice, rather than simply the TIE sounds that are included, but they work okay for the function. Overall a good fighter, and despite it lacking slightly in a few areas I'd definitely give it a download if you're tired of some of the more typical-looking fighters available. Hapan fighters have a unique style that is mimicked neither by the Rebellion or the Empire, so it'll be something brand new ;).
