Description Ah, Final Fantasy IX. As I said to Inyri yesterday while the opening FMV was running, it\'s easily the most beautifully-crafted game of the series on multiple levels. Do these weapons reflect that? They certainly match the game\'s signature style, and for remakes, that\'s almost as important as the quality of the model itself.
Naturally, we have DirectX 9 these days, whereas the PlayStation had some half-assed pixel rendering technique. Because of this difference, the weapons here look less like balloons. The Butterfly Sword has much finer and more precise detailing on it, and also has a more \"realistic\" broadsword style of blade modelled on as opposed to those huge cleavers. Overall, I see how this may be perceived as inaccurate, since it makes the weapons less like the originals, but I doubt anyone can argue that the changes aren\'t welcome - it\'s somewhat comparable to the graphical differences between Morrowind and Oblivion.
I can find no problems or errors with the weapons, nor glitches. That\'s hardly surprising. When you\'re remaking something not particularly complex, it\'s hard to go wrong, especially when you\'ve been making similar weapons of either original or borrowed design for at least the last two years. That\'s good news for us, because it sure sucks when mods don\'t work.
Well, you know the score, and whether you care one bit about Final Fantasy or not, these swords are as swordlike as a sword can be, and make fine replacements for the dual-bladed lightsabers if you\'re among those who prefer bladed weapons over flourescent lightbulbs. Enjoy!
