Description
darthbdaman brings us a new mod based on Achilles' Padawan mod. As the title suggests, this mod (and Achilles' before it) allows the player to begin the game as a Jedi on the Endar Spire. This mod has full alien voice-over for Trask (in the mod, a twilek Jedi), the dialogue for the mod has been expanded to remove all of the old tutorial elements. The player may also encounter a dark Jedi in the second half of the Endar Spire. The player ends the Endar Spire with one light Jedi robe, one Dark Jedi robe, a violet lightsaber crystal, a red lightsaber crystal, and a short lightsaber. This is a v0.6, and future versions promise the story continuing on Taris and Trask fighting Bandon with a lightsaber.

The mod is well-made and has no obvious bugs or errors in its construction. The dialogue is reasonably written, though a slightly closer attention to syntax and punctuation might be preferable. Another area for the author to consider expanding the mod would be in granting greater player choice and consequence, which always adds replayability and fun-factor to a game narrative. Trask might be given a rather more distinct narrative voice as a character. The TSLPatcher might also smooth over any potential incompatibilities with other mods that might exist with the final version, and might also ease installation somewhat. Nevertheless, overall there is nothing actually wrong with this mod - it is, as has been said, competently executed and put together. The removal of all the tutorial elements from the Endar Spire is particularly praiseworthy. If you are getting bored with the usual game-start, this is definitely a mod to download, and if this is anything to go by, v1.0 is going to be one hell of a mod. :D

NB: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative.
