Description Well, this skin, based on Razor's MA5B Assault Rifle model, is supposed to be the variant shown in the Halo 3 trailer.
Now, firstly, as a fan of Halo's unique style, I have to comment on the model. There's negligible detail in there, and it's not really true to the Halo design. Frankly, while it's a decent effort, I don't think it's enough to satisfy. Well, I'm not meant to be reviewing the model...
The skin seems to consist of metal textures liberally thrown over the model's skinmap. The cut-outs are basically plain black shapes with an inner bevel applied, where such detail really should have been modelled on. The ammo display on the screen looks bad, and there are some places where the texture seemingly just cuts off, and others where it misaligns. Not exactly the best part.
From what I gather, much of that is from the original model. I believe the "author's" additions to this model consist entirely of the cream-colored paintbucketing on the head area. It's just a flat color, with some flat black lines, and no texturing at all.
I'm going to advise the author to learn how to create textures before attempting to release anything else. This really doesn't cut it, I'm afraid, but then again, paintbucketing never does. I believe I saw someone refer to this as "cool" on the forums, but now that I've seen it for myself, the thought that it can be considered "cool" actually scares me a little. No effort, and no real work done.
Believe me when I say that the ModView screenshot below is just about as good as it will ever look. I can't really think why anyone would want to use this. The default weapons all look far better and don't stick out like a sore thumb.
