There's actually a promise of more of a mod to come in this, yet so little is included that it would be unfair to cast any eyes over the potential mod itself. As such there's little to really chew over here as the beta consists of a few character changes and no more.

Immediately noticeable are two of these changes. The first is the substitution of Jan for Edward Peretti's Mara Jade, which unfortunately was never released to this site in it's original form. That's quite a shame, as it's a high-quality model, certainly among the finer Star Wars characters modelled for Jedi Outcast. The second substitution is that of Kyle Katarn for a reskinned Luke Skywalker donning his Episode VI outfit variant - unfortunately Luke doesn't look half as classy as Mara; seems Raven forgot to use meshsmooth. :p

The third substitution is seen during the Artus Prime boss - Desann has been switched out for Toonce's Emperor Palpatine model. Not quite among Toonce's finest works IMO, but still a quality model and he's certainly more sinister than the family-friendly fan favourite, Desann. Finally, rather than Morgan's ghost in the Valley, you'll be confronted with a [i]totally[/i] dead Alec Guinness.

That's really as much as there is to this file, as none of the other features of the mod (whatever they may be) have not yet been implemented. The author mentions two bugs - Tavion's invisible saber, and Tavion making Vader sounds if a certain Vader model is also installed - but I was unable to replicate either error so you may get away with it.

Hopefully by the next release more of the mod's own content will be in place, allowing a greater idea of what the final product will bring to the table. For the time being, though, at least you get to hang out with Mara Jade, who as always seems like she's about to start kicking arse and taking names.
