Description OK, so Titans are a race of supreme deities of the Golden Age who presided over the world, according to ancient Greek texts. Eventually they got several types of crap kicked out of them by Zeus and his Olympian posse, leading to an embarassing defeat, imprisonment in the underworld, and the overthrowing of the entire pantheon. Wow, the entire world undergoing a change of management. Still, that kind of corporate restructuring is nowhere near as big as what Microsoft goes through every few months....
OK, history lesson over. Class dismissed! Oh... Hey, wait up! I haven't reviewed the skin yet. Sheesh, you kids these days, always in a hurry.... >_>
Well, right off the bat I'm going to tell you that if you want historical accuracy, you won't find it here. This "Titan" has no connection to it's mythical counterparts. That's not to say it's all bad...
From what I can tell, the skin is really composed primarily of several Photoshop filters, most notably difference clouds, color burn, color dodge, multiply, darken, and possibly a few color balance/overlays. While that may not be the process used to make it, that's what it looks like, at any rate.
However, upon closer inspection, it's not as random as it first seems (although it is still kinda random). For the most part, the texture (which I assume is meant to be fire) flows properly, despite some clearly visible seams. The eyes look like amber, which keeps in with the flame-ish theme. Overall the layout of the texture doesn't look too dodgy.
Until the model moves, that is. I blame that on the Shadowtrooper model myself, but a little clever skinning would have averted the issue. Either way, when carrying out animations the texture distorts a noticable amount on some parts of the body. Since that's a model error I won't hold it against the author, but as a little bit of advice I'd suggest doing a little extra work to cover it up.
This doesn't look horrible as such, but it doesn't exactly hold up as a real piece of eye candy. No doubt a little shader work would complement the skin very well. Still, this does have a... well... different style to it.
Athough I was under the impression that Titans were made out of clay, not fire...
