Description And here comes a minor update to Venom (v2). To quote Averus' previous review;
Well, apparently the JK2 version came out first this time =_,= Oh well.
Here's a review of the JK2 version
I think we've established long ago that Grey Fox is not Venom, and therefore is not the same shape, so I'm not even going to go there. But still, phonock's done a decent job of working with what is available. Although this skin is much more like Spiderman physically, once you see it, you'll know it's Venom. In English: not the perfect model for the job, but it works, and works pretty well.
Only thing I could find which looked out of place was the glossyness. Envmaps should only really be used when you want something to look glossy or shiny - this kid's been envmapped to the point of looking like he's made out of sheet latex plastic... or worse, like he was run over by a floor buffer. Ouchies. Might want to tone down the envmap shader for a future release - it's a good idea, yeah. but as it is it's too shiny, and the actual envmap texture could do with being a little more shine-like.
Now, for my opinion, which is ten times more important than Kouen's =_,=. All jests aside, I will admit that he brings up a good point involving the
gloss. However, It doesn't really harm the skins that badly, in my opinion.
Anyway, unlike the JK2 NPCs, these NPCs WILL work. Otherwise, this is just a JA port, which I don't think really matters. However, I suppose for people who aren't port savvy, this will be of use.
You would be wise to present bandwidth, lest you want your skin peeled off =_=.
All that's really changed since v2 is minor alterations to the face to increase movie accuracy, and a bit of experimentation with bulk shaders at beaker_bongload's suggestion.
Nothing major has really changed, but I will remark that the little changes do make Venom more accurate to his movie counterpart.
If you liked the last version, give this one a whirl.
