Description "Mygeeto Assault: Dominator" is another in Commander_Fett's "Mygeeto Assault" series (which is not supposed to be set on Mygeeto to get that out of the way).
This map is the sequel to his Mygeeto Assault: Beach Defense, but in my opinion, it is a step backwards - here's why:
The map itself is fine, it's a Dagobah-ish map, which, although drab, is still a decent-enough setting. It doesn't look as visually appealing as the previous map - it is harder to make a swamp visually appealing, but it is possible, and I think that this is maybe the first issue I'd have with it, in comparison.
The sides are basically the same as before, although this time, each side has a force-user as their max unlock unit. There's nothing inherently wrong with the sides; they are set up well and work effectively for the map and the setting.
The biggest issue I see with this is that the author appears to have fiddled around with the AI difficulty, which is a fine thing to do as long as it works - but in this case, I don't feel it has. The AI is super-accurate in a swampy, hard-to-see location (which is unrealistic, and frustrating for the player being one-shot by un-see-able enemies). The AI team balance seems way out-of-whack, too. I played through this a couple times, and one time, despite never dying and killing lots of enemies, the other team completely eliminated my team. The other playthroughs were very similar results, although I did manage to win once with a couple reinforcements left. There's really nothing fun about playing without error but still having the enemy win. If you're going to fool around with AI settings, don't forget that you're trying to make the map fun to play, not frustrating to play.
Also included is a hunt mode, which, while creative (it pits Jawas shooting fish against Acklays), is pretty unbalanced. I played through as a fish-shooting Jawa and once the Acklays had surrounded our CPs, every time I spawned, I died within a couple seconds. As with conquest, balance and fun for the player is so much more important than difficulty.
If it looks interesting, though, go ahead and give it a try - maybe your experience will be a bit different.
