Description
Adding to the Low Quality and Medium Quality versions that have recently been uploaded to the site, we now have a High Quality version too. Crazy Assassins review follows below:
Well, part 1 is finally here. In order to review this without giving anything away, I'll break it down into a simple list of the movie elements.

1. Camera Movements
Good: kept the action in view most of the time, wasn't jittery or anything.
Bad: Some of the camera movements could be better, and less random.

2. Information
Good: The movie kept you informed with what's happening, you weren't left in the dark.
Bad: The constant text screens are annoying. When people watch a movie, they usually don't want to read stuff, and they distract you from what's going on.

3. Combat
Good: Wasn't overstressed; decent action shots.
Bad: The combat is ok, but it's too similar to actual JKA fighting. By that I mean it seems more random rather than scripted.

4. Music
Good: Right tone for what was happening, and wasn't over-dramatic.
Bad: Too loud. 'Nuff said.

5. Player Acting
Good: Actors moved in unison, use of animations was properly used.
Bad: Sometimes they were a little off, could be done a little better. No dialog.

Suggestions

I know it may sound impossible, but for combat, I would have used NPCs and some custom animations, like they do on Taspir right before you fight Alora again.

Rather than use screens with text like some early Charley Chapman movie, use a deep voice-over. (Think Rahn in DFII:JK.)

The movie could use some dialog. Try this setup: Voice-over at the beginning of a scene, action/dialog during the scene, voice-over for important events, repeat.
Now to add in my own two cents.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and have been waiting for it for a while now. As far as the points Crazy mentioned in his review, I would agree with quite a few. The filming itself was smooth and there were some nice artistic shots included in there, especially the ones where the camera pans up and the screen fades out. As far as the information is concerned, I disagree with Crazy here in that I quite liked the idea of the static text that appears occasionally. Although a couple of them should probably been on a bit longer to give people time to finish reading them, most of them were on for a reasonable length of time.

The combat was good, and well choreographed, though I would agree with Crazy in that it does look much like actual JKA fighting. As for the music…I thought it was fantastic! Excellent choice of music and very well cut together rising and falling in tone for the appropriate type of scene.

Lastly, the acting. I was very impressed with how the actors worked together in this film. I know from personal experience doing some acting in JKA that it isn’t easy, either for the actors or the director to get everybody to work in unison.

I especially enjoyed the extra ‘bloopers’ reel at the end, absolutely hilarious! :D Especially the bit where it said; “We can assure you Rosh was harmed during production” absolutely classic!

All in all I really enjoyed this movie, and I look forward to the next part! As for things to be improved upon; well personally I really liked how it was laid out with the static text screens and such. But I think you should also definitely take note of Crazy’s suggestions too, as it is always good to have a range of different opinions from different people.

Be sure to give this a download! :)

Note: By the way Crazy, its Charlie Chaplin not Charlie Chapman. :P
