Description Description:
A small, compact modification to Call of Pripyat, which adds just over 20 unique weapons (akin to the unique weapons present throughout Shadow of Chernobyl, and Clear Sky to a lesser extent) and re-enables most of the faction armor - on top of which adding some content from Clear Sky, such as the CS-1 Body Armor.
Unlike most modifications which seek to rebuild the game from the ground up, Shadow is meant to add a subtle twist to the game. Visually, there is little to no change, but on a gameplay level, most special characters become much more challenging fights and it adds a certain level of difficulty to otherwise easy fights.
As it began with artifact modification in mind, it also ups the prices for most artifacts, while making them suitably more effective - there's more incentive to both sell and keep artifacts, resulting in some hard choices - especially as faction outfits often sacrifice protection for artifact containers, and vice versa.
This mod has been tested for compatibility with:
- Call of Pripyat Variation Mod (0.3) - works fine, stable, but some unique weapons may not spawn.
- Call of Pripyat Atmosfear - works fine, no conflicts.
I currently would not encourage using it alongside SMRTR Pripyat for stability reasons.
New features in Version 0.9b are slightly larger squads, allowing A-Life to be more confident and bold - artifact hunting and faction conflicts occur more regularly as a result. Faction relations are also more dynamic - eventually, even without doing quests, you can improve or utterly destroy your relationship with a faction. Quest impact is also modified so that Loners or Bandits will become hostile upon completion of some quests.
