Oh yeah, a new lightsaber hilt. In November and December of last year we got hit with lots of new lightsaber hilts to add to our site’s collection. After the holiday season, it died, which is too bad since I know lots of people like getting their hands on new hilts.

For the first time in three months we have a new lightsaber hilt and it’s for the original [i]Knights of the Old Republic[/i]. I must say I’m in shock that this is our 8th K1 mod in the row so far. I do not recall this ever happening. It’s not a bad thing since our site is dominated with TSL mods which take up 70% of our site.

Evasto makes his KOTOR FileFront debut. This particular lightsaber hilt is one of a Sith design. So for your dark side lovers our there, this hilt is made for you. It’s mostly black with some red and gold trim on it. The shape of the design is similar to one T7nowhere made for WotOR as one of the trophy lightsabers you can collect from Sherruk. I did check them out and saw the differences just in case anybody was wondering. ;) There is also a custom red blade that the author made.

I checked out the UTI file of the lightsaber and it’s been stat boosted. The crystals will give it bigger bonuses than what you’re used to getting. So it’s more powerful than a traditional KOTOR lightsaber. There are some damage bonuses against the lights side of the Force. The only downfall of that is you can only get one opportunity to fight against one Jedi on the light side of the Force the whole KOTOR game and that’s Juhani on top of the Rakatan Temple, which can only happen if you redeem her in the grove on Dantooine. If you’re wondering about Jolee, he’s a neutral/gray Jedi. If you’re going to ask about Bastila, you only fight her if she’s on the dark side. Those bonuses would have been a little more affective in TSL being a Dark Lord because you have the opportunity to fight three light side Jedi Masters. Though Mission and Zaalbar are on the light side, but they’re not Jedi if you were wondering why I didn’t mention them. :p

There is a .2da file to this new hilt that makes the lightsaber upgradeable. It’s the upcrystals.2da file. In my opinion it’s one of the simplest .2da files to edit if you’re already using an upcrystals.2da in your override folder. Just copy the row you need and paste the contents in your current upcrystals.2da file and you’re done. How to get this lightsaber is mentioned in the readme.
