A long time ago (about a week ago to be exact) I saw this file come in. There were still many files waiting to be reviewed in front of it, so I said a little prayer to myself. "Hey, that looks nifty. I sure hope it doesn't suck."

My prayers have been answered thankfully. Ashura was requested by a Mr. "Random Guy" on MSN to make a Katana weapon for the game. Being as this was then shared with us, I can only assume that it met the request's requirements satisfyingly.

It is a three part package. The first is a Katana with what can best be described as 'redonkulous' amount of dismemberment, as well as a sheathed version, and just the sheath by itself. Each sheath variety adopt the staff katas, giving it a great look and feel. Also, damage is reduced for the sheathed versions, substituted by a slight pushback effect. Your not going to go launching anyone off a ledge (well, not easily at least), but it will get them back a foot or two for you to try to edge in with another swing.

The blade itself is simple, nothing to take your breath away, but in sharp contrast, I was very impressed by the job that Ashura did with the hilt and handle of the sword. It is simple, with the right amount of precision to really bring out the detail. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but the original Milkshape (.ms3d) source files have been included for your pleasure.
