Description As a saber mod, this is cool. As saber models, they're despicable. Okay, maybe that was a little mean. My second opinion says it wasn't, though.
Let's start with the good aspects of this, so I don't seem like a witch. I was really impressed with the blades, themselves. The positioning was perfect, and the fact that the author thinned the blades out really made an impact. Some of them just seemed a little too long, though with the actual hilts the size of an elephant leg maybe they were supposed to be that long. The claws were really cool, since you couldn't actually see the model. Once again a bit too long for my tastes, but still cool nontheless.
The models themselves... well... had the author actually textured them they would look much better. It's as if he/she just slapped some stock textures on and didn't care how they looked. I suppose it's possible the author didn't know how to UV map them, but that's what forums are for. The models are also not sized properly. Some of them are huge, and they're not bolted to the hands in the right place. The sight of these hilts actually made me turn away from my computer screen.
They're also supposed to work in single-player, but don't because the author didn't add the entries to the MENUS.str file. I wonder if the author even beta tested these hilts before submitting them. It's nice to see people modelling, but the general concensus around here is not to submit your first works, especially if they're hideous. I don't want to be mean... but these hilts are just not visually appealing.
