Description During my time at Gametoast and Filefront I've seen my fair share of modding novices who ask questions that are addressed in the documentation that comes along with the Battlefront II Modding Tools. Now usually they're just too lazy to read and figure out their question on their own, but sometimes they genuinely cannot make heads or tails of the documentation and need a helping hand. Well this tutorial, written by Fierfek, is intended to help those in the latter group.
I glanced through the tutorial and was impressed by the amount of detail and advice given. I especially appreciated Fierfek's advice on how to avoid the pit falls that many beginners seem to fall into such as sticking with the default Yavin settings, making the map too big, and leaving it entirely flat. I think I can speak for all of the staff here when I say that we hate it when we have to review those kinds of maps because they aren't fun to play and, believe it or not, we don't enjoy handing out negative reviews, especially to those who have just begun modding.
Another thing I appreciate about this tutorial is the inclusion of pictures, which really help those of us who are visually-oriented learners. At a whopping 32 pages the tutorial does not spare any details, though everyone should note that this isn't a FULL tutorial on all of the ZE features. This really just covers the basics. If you want to know how to do more you'll need to do a bit of research!
Overall this is a well-written tutorial that should be extremely beneficial to new modders.
